Rules of padel

Padel is doubles on a 20 m × 10 m enclosed court. The serve is underarm. After the bounce, the ball may hit the walls. Scoring is the same 15/30/40 sequence as tennis, games to six, tiebreak at 6–6. Confirm the current LTA Padel Rules and International Padel Federation (FIP) Regulations of the Padel Game before a competition — this page is a player-facing summary, not a substitute for the rulebooks.

The court

A standard doubles court is 20 metres long and 10 metres wide, with a net across the middle. Glass and mesh enclose the space so that a ball which bounces in court and then hits a wall can still be returned.

Serve

The serve is underarm, struck at or below waist height, diagonally, after a bounce. A let on the net that still lands in the correct box is replayed, as in tennis.

Scoring and golden point

Points run 15, 30, 40, game. At deuce many social venues play advantage; some use golden point (next point wins the game). Sets are usually first to six games, with a tiebreak at 6–6. Always follow the host club.
