Cardiff’s dining scene has welcomed a sophisticated new addition with Bosco, an Italian restaurant that’s quickly establishing itself as a must-visit destination on St Mary’s Street. From the moment you step inside, the amazing fit-out sets the tone. This isn’t your typical high street Italian, but a carefully curated space that feels both elegant and welcoming.
The Food Experience

Our culinary journey began with their delightful starters, featuring perfectly crafted ham and cheese alongside golden arancini balls that arrived crispy on the outside with molten centres. These small plates showcased the kitchen’s attention to detail and authentic Italian flavours.

Their pizza absolutely delivered with quality toppings and Italian cooking techniques on show throughout the venue.

The Aperol Bar: A Cardiff Gem
However, the true highlight for me at Bosco lies upstairs in their Aperol Bar. This lovely elevated space offers views overlooking the bustling St Mary’s Street below, creating the perfect perch to watch Cardiff life unfold. Whether you’re wrapping up dinner or starting your evening, this bar provides an atmospheric backdrop that captures both Italian aperitivo culture and Cardiff’s vibrant city centre energy.
The Verdict

Bosco brings a welcome dose of Italian sophistication to Cardiff’s evolving restaurant landscape, offering both excellent food and a memorable setting that locals and visitors alike will appreciate.
